Prologue- Untitled Story

YEAH SO.. this is something I started last year, but the idea of it kind of just died. My friends encouraged me to keep writing so just check it out. You might get a laugh or two out of it, but I don't care. This is the longest story that I've continued and I intend to write at least ONE STORY by the time I'm in University.

The dark night was quiet. It was the kind of night that sent shivers down your spine. There was tension in the air, and impatience too. The atmosphere was so thick with it that you could almost taste it.

The clouds drifted across the dark sky and hid the full moon. Now pitch-black, it was impossible to see anything. The only illumination came from the well-lit hospital on Sterling road. A woman screamed in pain, her cry breaking the stillness of the night. As her scream faded away, it was replaced immediately by the pure sound of a baby’s first cry.

Those present in the emergency room gasped in awe as they saw the baby girl for the first time. She was the most beautiful baby they had ever seen. She had soft, jet-black hair that was just beginning to grow from her head. The baby stopped crying, and opened its eyes. Everyone watched her, captivated by the girl’s hazel brown eyes.

Then the mother screamed again, and this time, there wasn’t a cry. This baby girl had white blonde hair and the bluest eyes you could imagine on a person. No one knew that the second child would be born at all. It was a miracle, really.

When everything was cleaned up, the doctor looked up into the now clear night sky. Those babies were special; he could feel it in his heart.

THE BEAT!

Yeah So, I've talked about the school newspaper, THE BEAT! before. For the first issue, they gave me a chance to publish one of my stories. I was elated; I was actually jumping around my room with excitement (yeah I do that....I'M SO COOL!) And then I wrote a really good story that I was so proud of, the only thing was that it was about 900 words and the limit was 400. SO, I cut down on all my descriptions, the best part of my writing and managed to make it 600 words. Even so, they didn't have enough space to fit it in.
I was disappointed. That is when my friend Suh told me that I could put up my stories here, on my blog for everyone to read! Then I will not get rejected, and I have the freedom to write whatever I want and not worry about the length at all. So here are some of my older pieces.

God.

I came across this post today and it truly made me think about religion and God. Just read it, you don't have to do anything but keep this story in your mind.


A teenage girl about 17 had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he was waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her." Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone. Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God? Repost this as if you truly believe in God. PS: God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what and if you stand up for him he will stand up for you. I bet 93% of the people that read this wont re-post it.

THIS IS AMAZING. Do you understand what this means for health?
This enzyme is related to the AIDS disease, and this could mean that there is a chance that AIDS can be cured!

O-MUN

Heylo! I thought that I'd make another post before I said bye-bye to my blog for a bit.
O-MUN is an Online MUN conference or debate that takes place every two weeks or so with lobbying meetings every few days. Tonight is my first debate and I admit, I'm nervous. The people there are much better than me but I seriously need to improve my debating skills.
My goal: speak at least ONCE during the course of the debate. The more the better!
Okay so I must go research so that I have tons of issues to debate about!

Psychology.

After a 3 day weekend of working on my psychology homework, I finally finished my essay! She gave us less than a week to finish off a 1000 words, and I must admit, I was put off by the number at first. The truth is that right now, it is much (and I must stress MUCH) easier to write a 1000 words essay on any topic than last year or the year before that. I guess it is because my English skills have been steadily improving as I grow or maybe because I have more information to write about. What ever it is, I aim to finish my next essay faster.

But Psychology took a longer time than English. I guess it is because its a brand new topic and I don't know much about it. Its a little interesting, but it hasn't yet screamed for my attention like science and english have.
Okay, I have to go research some Cyber warfare for my O-MUN conference tonight.

THIMUN SINGAPORE

On Monday, Ms. Shepherd my MUN director gave me great news, I was eligible to participate in THIMUN Singapore! I wouldn't be staying with my friends in the hotel, but thats a different story.

The evening I heard the news I was so excited that I wanted to start working immediately, but I hadn't even been assigned a country yet, let alone an issue. My country is Colombia (my mind brings up Gloria Prittchet from Modern Family). Just putting it out there in case any of my readers (the existence of which I highly doubt)  is going to be there as well. I'll be in GA3 you guys!

To be honest, I'm not a very good delegate. To make that statement more positive, I should say that I'm not experienced enough to meet the level of my friends. I've started O-MUN which is an online debate which will help me improve my debating abilities in addition to the weekly MUN meetings held in school. Last night's lobbying session didnt go too well as only me and Reshma turned up. There were 6 moderators. Okay wow, I'm filled with random facts today. So that session was closed early.
